Our Relationship Matters!

The Process:

 The process we shall go through in our relationship is a long and arduous one.  Many times when we get to the end of this process we will start over again.  However, don’t let that daunt you, such journeys are those that create strong bonds and can lead to the best outcomes.  Our process will look much like this:

1.  Understanding you:

1. My first goal in working for you is to try and understand your financial goals, current financial situation, feelings about what you want accomplish, and how you’re going to accomplish them.  You will help me to understand your situation from your perspective. 

2. Researching the Strategy:
   1. With this understanding and information, I will deliberate on your situation, access the necessary resources to discover your choices, and find various strategies to address your unique circumstances. 

3. Presenting alternatives and choosing a plan:
   1. I will bring you various strategies and alternatives.  We will discuss the pros and cons of each of these choices and I will usually recommend one or more of the courses of action.  Once we understand the alternatives the choice is ultimately yours and we proceed to make our changes. 

4. Implementation of the plan:
   1. Once we have agreed on a course of action, it is time to put our words into motion.  Many of my clients suppose that this is where I am supposed to take over for them and keep reminding them to make the necessary changes.  Understand. This is your plan.  You should be the one most involved in the implementation of your plan and the course of your financial future.  You are responsible for pushing all others involved in your plan to do their part (even me sometimes) to make things happen.

                                                               i.      While I do as much as I can to help most of my clients, I am usually working on at least 40 plans at a time and I do not have the time or the resources to do everything for everyone.  This cooperation is the key to our success and I hope that you understand your large responsibility in our relationship.

5. Follow-up of the plan:
   1. Things do not happen overnight and many times individuals and institutions do not do exactly what we want when we want them.  So, we need to constantly follow-up with our plan of action to make sure the moving parts are doing what they are supposed to being doing.

                                                               i.      I will help you in this but, again, I do not have the resources or capability to monitor your progress beyond the accounts that I hold for you and the timely information you have given me.

6. Review and change the plan:
   1. I review with my clients, usually annually but it varies on circumstance and need, every year.  We will review our plan, any accounts that you hold with me, and make adjustments based on the actual results of our plan since our last meeting.

                                                               i.      The truth is that I find only a small proportion of my clients actually make a lot of progress on their plans when I meet with them the following year and I can always tell who they are because there is always good communication.

Communication:

Please use me as your resource, partner, and even friend in helping you reach a brighter financial future.  It is ok call me morning, noon, night, weekday, weekend, or even on a holiday.  I always want to know what is going on with you and how I can help.  I may not always be able to answer the phone when you call or respond to emails within 24hrs, but I do care and will get back to you as soon as I can.
